The ultimately UK #14 album was heavily influenced by pop and jazz standards and salsa, showcasing the U.S. #15 hit single “You Can’t Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want)”. In a nod to its jazz standards influence, the cover art imitated that of an album by Sonny Rollins, “Vol. 2”. The album was a modest commercial success, but after the four month long Body and Soul world tour concluded in July 1984, Jackson retreated.
